Assisted-living housing complex for seniors in Jasło
Description
The 2017 concept for a housing complex offering assisted living for seniors in Jasło responds to the need for housing that sits between independent living and a care facility. It comprises a group of two-storey buildings, scaled to the neighbouring single-family houses – deliberately avoiding the institutional character of a large care facility. The elevations are white, with dark panels between the windows, under steep, dark-grey gabled roofs. Balconies with simple dark balustrades give residents their own outdoor space. The floor plans show residential rooms grouped around shared spaces, complemented by ancillary rooms – a layout typical of assisted living, combining residents' independence with access to support and to communal life. The landscaping is designed for everyday use by older people: a garden with a path curving gently between flower beds, shrub and tree planting, and vehicle access moved to the edge of the site so that it does not conflict with pedestrian movement.
